Great New Bikes For Kids And Teenagers: Trek Releases New Marlin 4 And Wahoo Path

Trek’s new-for-2024 Marlin 4 has just dropped with colour ways that will make you the envy of your friends, whether it’s on the trails or at the local park. And – great news – the entry level model of the US brand’s most popular bike is staying at its 2023 price: £450.

The new Marlin 4 is now available in four colour ways: Matte Dnister Black, Hex Blue, Living Coral and Crimson. The Big Bear Bikes team think these finishes look fantastic and Mike has taken the opportunity to level up one of our in-stock Hex Blue Marlin 4s (pictured) with some eye-catching accents.

We offer the full range of hot parts and accessories from Burgtec to really bling up your bike. On this Marlin 4, Mike has added Burgtec Mk4 composite pedals, Burgtec The Bartender Pro Greg Minnaar Signature handlebar grip and Burgtec Stem Spacer Kit. It’s a great way of making your bike reflect your personal style and only cost £78 in total.

In case you’ve seen our previous updates about the Trek Marlin and were wondering, this model does not have the more trail-friendly frame and components that have been introduced on the rest of the range. That makes it perfect for lighter off-road riding and general biking around the town and to the park.

Our Sales Manager Olly said: “Trek have kept it simple with the 2024 Marlin 4. It still has the same frame as the 2023 model but it has come out in these new colours. It’s really, really nice.
“Mike’s Burgtec upgrades show you don’t have to have a high-end bike to make it individual and pimp it up. You can add a bit of difference to any bike.”

Trek’s Wahoo kids bike has also seen some changes recently, with the introduction of models tailored to different kinds of riding. The range was previously just a single hybrid-style bike available in 20”, 24” and 26” frames until the Wahoo Trail was released last summer, aimed at riders who spend more time on gentle tracks.

Now, Trek have followed that up with the Wahoo Path, a lightweight kids' bike which is ready to roll from city parks to greenways and beyond. It features the new Wahoo aluminium frame and is designed for younger riders to build their confidence, with wide, smooth tyres that help them carry speed on the pavement without sacrificing grip.

The Wahoo 26 Path kids’ bike is for riders from about 147cm to 160cm tall and comes with eight-speed gears, with a low stand over height to fit riders for longer. As the name suggests, The Trek Wahoo 26 Path is available only in the larger 26” frame size in the UK, with three colourways Dnister Black, Hex Blue and White Prismatic (pictured). The Wahoo 26 Path also retails for £500.
