Drawing on advanced technology and ingenious design, the TREK Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS T-Type elevates e-mountain biking to a whole new level. From rocky ascents to windy trails, this bike takes on every challenge with ease, thanks to its lightweight carbon-fibre frame, cutting-edge motor, and precise wireless shifting technology.
Perfect for riders who desire the thrill of a traditional mountain biking experience with an added power boost for those gruelling uphill journeys. And with a uniquely designed motor that?s compact, silent, and incredibly potent, you?ll enjoy that added assistance without any compromise on the mountain biking experience.
The bike?s OCLV Mountain Carbon frame houses a fully encased 360 Wh battery along with a TQ harmonic pin ring transmission. The smart charging port, sleek integrated LED display, and discretionary handlebar remote add to the bike?s advanced features. As for the suspension, the 150 mm RockShox Lyrik Select+ fork with DebonAir spring and Charger 2.1 RC damper and 140 mm RockShox SuperDeluxe Select+ rear suspension guarantee a smooth ride on even the roughest terrains.
Plus, the Fuel EXe 9.8 is fortified with a SRAM's GX AXS wireless transmission to ensure remarkably swift shifts, regardless of the load.
The Fuel EXe 9.8 redefines the e-mountain biking experience by blending traditional biking elements with state-of-the-art technology. With a transmission suitable for the most rugged trails, minimalist cockpit due to wireless shifting, and a high-performing RockShox suspension setup, you?re geared for some extreme trail tackling. Despite its advanced features, the bike retains the feel of a traditional mountain bike, thanks to design elements like the integrated battery that can be easily removed with a simple Allen key.
An optional feature is the TQ-HPR50 motor, noted for being small, silent, and immensely powerful. Unlike regular motors which use gears and belts that consume space and are prone to noise and damage, the TQ-HPR50 employs a harmonic pin-ring drive transmission that?s exceptionally quiet and delivers a natural-feeling ride.
Get an additional 40% range with an optional 160 Wh external battery, conveniently suited to a standard bottle cage, and requiring no complex wiring or mounts.
Connect with the Trek Central app for custom motor tuning, activity tracking, navigation, real-time range calculations, and personalising your ride. Plus, the innovative Active Braking Pivot technology allows for a more customizable control, especially when you need it the most.
As the final touch in ensuring a ride that?s tailored to your style, the Fuel EXe 9.8 leaves the pedal choice to its riders. Whether you prefer the versatility of flat pedals or the control and efficiency of clipless MTB pedals, the decision is yours to take with this endlessly adaptable ride. Your journey towards e-mountain biking excellence begins with the TREK Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS T-Type. <%

GET UP TO 39% OFF THE COST OF YOUR NEW BIKE: HAPPY CYCLE TO WORK DAY

The UK’s Cycle To Work Scheme has been in place for over 20 years now, offering fantastic discounts to tens of thousands of riders.

The Cycle To Work Scheme, is offered through many thousands of employers in the UK and applies to bikes of all types, whether it’s road, MTB or hybrid, and that includes e-bikes too.

About the Cycle To Work Scheme

Introduced in 1999, the scheme aims to encourage employees to commute on their bike for environmental, traffic congestion and health reasons. It also enables companies to demonstrate that they’re looking after the wellbeing of their people.

Obviously, you’re supposed to use the bike for commuting – and we are massive supporters of getting to work this way – but it’s fine to buy a bike that’s built for the trails. Your employer owns the bike until you pay the final ownership fee, which is based on the “fair market value” of it at the end of that period.

As well as your new bike, you can use the scheme to buy accessories, such as helmets and bags, though these have to be ostensibly for your commute. So, no full face masks, for example. If you don’t have a lock, we strongly advise that you get one along with your bike as you’re liable for the Cycle To Work payments, even if it gets stolen while you’re paying it off.

How does the Cycle To Work Scheme work?

This is a salary sacrifice scheme for people aged 18 and over where the monthly payment for your bike is taken out before tax and National Insurance are deducted. Because your contribution is taken before tax, you pay off more per month for less. So, for a bike costing £1,200, £100 is taken from your salary every month but it only costs you £68 because the other £32 would have normally gone to the tax man, right? So, you pay 12 instalments of £68 and a final ownership fee of £300, totalling £1,116. If your salary puts you in the higher tax brackets, you actually save more but you get the gist.

I’m interested. What do I need to do?

Firstly, find out which scheme your employer is enrolled in and therefore where you can buy your bike from. We work with a number of Cycle To Work providers, including cyclescheme.co.uk, cycleplus and Bikes for the NHS.

Then you need to speak to your HR department and request a certificate, bring it to us and we’ll redeem it against the cost of your bike and accessories. The salary sacrifice commences from your next pay packet.

To get a bike on the scheme, your employer needs to sign up to a provider. If they’re unsure about how to do this, send them to us and we’ll help.
