Exploring the Trails with Haibike's AllMtn Range: Unleashing the Power of Adventure

Haibike AllMtn is a big, powerful e-mountain bike, with long travel suspension, all the grunt you need to get up the hills and enough battery to keep you riding all day long. In this blog, we’ll look in more detail at the flagship e-mountain bike from this German brand, explore the range and explain why this could be the machine for you.

We have this thing we call the “e-bike smile” at Big Bear Bikes. It’s the expression on the face of a rider who’s just finished a lap on a fun and capable e-bike, a combination of “wow, that was great” and “let’s go again!”

We see it a lot at our sister store Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, where we hire out a fleet of Trek Rails, one of the best long travel, big boost e-mountain bikes on the market. Talking to customers after they’ve finished their latest run, it’s obvious they’ve had the best time and they’re probably already working out how they can add a Rail or similar to their bike stable.

The AllMtn (“all mountain”) range from German brand Haibike is cut from the same cloth as Trek Rail. It’s what we call a “full fat” e-bike, with lots of travel on the suspension, a motor that gives plenty of assist and a large capacity battery that’s good for hours and hours of riding. While Haibike isn’t one of the bigger global brands, it has a fantastic e-bike pedigree and offers a combination of excellent build quality, specification level and value for money. We think these bikes deserve your attention.

Who is the AllMtn range for?

The Haibike AllMtn range caters to a diverse spectrum of riders, from seasoned trail veterans to those embarking on their mountain biking journey. Whether you seek the rush of downhill descents, the thrill of conquering technical ascents, or simply want to explore off-road trails with ease, the AllMtn range has lots to offer.

Designed for versatility, these bikes blend the power of electric assistance with the agility of a traditional mountain bike. With robust construction and cutting-edge technology, the AllMtn series is ideal for riders who crave adventure and exploration, and demand a bike that can keep up with their passion for the outdoors.

What is a mullet bike set-up?

One standout feature of the Haibike AllMtn range is the mullet bike setup. This configuration combines a larger 29” wheel upfront with a slightly smaller 27.5” one in the rear, enhancing the bike's performance in various trail conditions. The larger front wheel improves stability and provides better rollover capability when tackling obstacles, while the smaller rear wheel enhances manoeuvrability and agility, making it easy to flick about and zip around corners.

This innovative set-up strikes a balance between stability and agility, offering riders the best of both worlds. Whether navigating technical descents or powering through tight corners, the mullet bike set-up ensures a responsive and controlled ride, elevating the overall mountain biking experience.

Our team’s verdict

Our Sales Manager Olly said: “Haibike is a well-established brand that’s been around for years, with some fantastic German design, engineering and manufacture. The AllMtn range is a great step into the world of full fat e-mountain bikes but it’s also a great pick if you’re really into mountain biking and you want a bike with that plush suspension.

“One thing about Haibike is that they really know how to dress a bike up. They can really hit the nail on the head with their specification and they tend to offer a high level of component at each price point when compared to a lot of the bigger brands. We also love the mullet set-up. They’re great for cornering, hitting the berms and just having fun with your bike.

“The biggest compliment we could pay the AllMtn range is that we have lots of customers who have narrowed their choice of new bike down to Haibike AllMtn or Trek Rail, and have gone on to choose the AllMtn with absolutely no regrets, having tried out both. That really is high praise.”

If you’d like to know more about Haibike AllMtn or you’d like to try it out back to back with Trek Rail or any other e-bikes, come along to our Pickering store and talk to our friendly, knowledgeable team.
